Mount Ismaros has an altitude of 700 meters.There is a Wildlife Refuge in the area – “Reforestation Area Ismaros” covering 800 ha. It is a breeding, feeding, and wintering habitat of wildlife species (birds and animals).

Ancient Theatre of Maroneia. (It was constructed in the Hellenistic period and remodeled in Roman times. Three rows of stone seats of the caveat, the central and the horseshoe-shaped conduit of the orchestra and the building of the Roman scene are preserved).

Petrota beach. Geological structures are known as “Poseidon’s coastguards”, since they guard the Thracian Sea. They are approximately 3 m high and they were created by the erosion of a volcano-conglomerate, a rock forme by adhered volcanic pebbles.

Odysseio Reithro - is a valley that starts at Mount Ismaros and ends at Synaxi beach. According to legend, Odysseus disembarked at Synaxi beach and headed towards the Maroneia, through this valley.

The Western walls of the Ancient town of Ismara (9th-8th century B.C.). A sign by the Archeological Council leads us towards to the Acropolis of ancient Ismara, which is on Agios Georgios hill, at an altitude of 467 m. You can see the megalithic gate of the Ismara walls, a little further below, it is made of the local monzodiorite rock. You can also see the lenos( ancient wine press), carved on a block of monzodiorite.

Lake Ismarida (Mitrikou) Birdwatching. A coastal wetland complex. It consists of the freshwater Lake Mitrikou, surrounded by extensive reedbeds ( Phragmites ), coastal lagoons and saltmarsh.
