Synaxi trail is essentially the continuation of the Marmaritsa trail. After passing the Ancient theater and the Marmaritsa beach, continuing through the ancient olive grove, you reach the coastal Archeological site of Synaxi. On your way to this trail you have the opportunity to explore other trails of geological interest marked by the Institute of Geology & Mineral Exploration, www.igme.gr (Important features are the volcanic rocks, connected to the mill stone quarries. One of the most impressive phenomena is the monzodiorite spheroidal weathering, producing amazing megalithic forms).
1. Start
Starting from the dirt road.You will find Maroneia Trails signs.
2. Synaxi beach
At Synaxi, visitors can enjoy the impressive beach, with the large pebbles and the blocks of monzodiorite rock.

Synaxis - Coastal Archeological Site. Visitors can admire the archeological site, where a Byzantine basilica with frescoes is built on the ruins of an ancient temple.

The Western walls of the Ancient town of Ismara (9th-8th century B.C.).You can see the megalithic gate of the Ismara walls.
